Merchant Banking
Merchant Banking invests in corporate equity and corporate debt, real estate equity and real estate debt and infrastructure worldwide. We also provide asset management services to investments where Goldman Sachs has an interest.
Real Estate Investing
We originate and manage opportunistic equity investments in a wide range of asset classes, such as commercial and residential real estate, hotels, student housing and non-performing loans. We also provide mezzanine debt financing for real estate acquisitions and refinancing.
Real Estate Asset Management
We provide investment and asset management services globally in order to play an integral role in supporting the firm’s real estate investing strategy. This includes sourcing, underwriting and due diligence, acquisitions, asset management, construction and development oversight, financings and dispositions for the firm’s real estate investments.
Infrastructure
Since 2006, MBD has invested approximately $10 billion of capital to make direct investments in infrastructure related assets and companies. The Infrastructure Investment Group manages the GS Infrastructure Partners family of funds, which seeks to pursue a buy-and-hold strategy that invests in assets with strong, stable cash flows.
Eligibility
The summer analyst role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree and is usually undertaken during the second or third year of study.

We review applications on a rolling basis and encourage you to apply as soon as you are ready because interviews can occur prior to the application period closing.
Our goal is to notify you of your status approximately one month after each application period concludes.
Our Summer Analyst Program is an eight to ten week summer internship for undergraduate students. You will be fully immersed in the day-to-day activities of one of our divisions.
As a participant, you will:
Attend orientation where you’ll learn about our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of being a member of the firm
Receive division-specific training designed to help you succeed
Have the opportunity to work on real responsibilities alongside fellow interns and our people
