Description

The Analyst will work closely with the Senior Associate and support the efforts of all members of the real estate private equity investments team to evaluate, underwrite, and execute private real estate investments. This hire will have responsibility related to all phases of the investment process from identifying macro themes through market research, building and running complex financial models, writing memoranda and presenting to investment committee, coordinating due diligence, and closing and managing investment opportunities.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

· Close collaboration with the Senior Associate for activities related to screening, tracking, underwriting, touring, performing due diligence, presenting to investment committee, financing, closing, and managing of real estate investments

· Build and manipulate complex financial models in Microsoft Excel (familiarity with Argus software is a plus)

· Conduct exploratory market research and perform analytics on potential investment opportunities and themes

· Create and prepare materials for investment committee meetings

· Coordinate with external and internal parties to conduct due diligence

· Assist in the creation of various team specific processes and customized reports

· Collaboration with teams across the organization to drive marketing, sales and product development projects

· Broad administrative duties including but not limited to financial reporting, portfolio monitoring, and client meeting preparation

 

Minimum Requirements: 

· Strong understanding of core finance and investment concepts (real estate investing is a plus)

· Genuine interest in the real estate industry and desire to learn

· Strong academic credentials and preferably 1-3 years of experience in real estate, banking, or consulting

  • Basic understanding of real estate terminology and formulas to correctly relate variables w/ limited information

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently present information and interface with company leadership

  • Positive attitude, well-organized, proactive, hard-working, team-player, passion for excellence, super detail oriented, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the highest ethical standards

  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
